About

Ringing the Bell

We are a vibrant worshipping community in the lovely driftless region of southwestern Wisconsin. Our numbers may be small, but our hearts are large and we are active in our worship and our community. We are rooted in our Christian tradition of joyful worship, song, and prayer, and committed to supporting and promoting a journey of spiritual growth that will serve the people of Trinity, the larger community, and the world.

Visit us at 409 High Street in Mineral Point, Wisconsin 53565, up the hill from the historic business district, on the corner of High and Iowa streets.

Service Time: 9:30am, Sunday – Coffee “hour” to follow in the Legate Hall (basement of church).

Our Rector, the Rev. Christian Maxfield or “Fr. Christian,” is an ordained priest of the Episcopal Church. He provides for the sacramental and spiritual care of the congregation. He has been rector since September 2022.

Our Wardens are Kathy Madigan and Mark Prouty. Along with members of the Vestry (our governing board), Joan Faull, Tom Schmit and Penny Roberts, they provide for the care of the people, clergy and facilities of the congregation.

Our Music Director, Dorothy Prouty, provides for the music of our church services. Our Treasurer, Janean Faull, provides the financial aspects of the congregation are in order.

As an Episcopal Church, we are under the authority of the Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Wisconsin, the Rt. Rev. Matthew Gunter or “Bishop Matt.” The diocese is our connection to the broader church and provides resources and support so we can better serve our community.

We are also part of the worldwide Anglican Communion, those churches who trace their roots to the Church of England and to the New Testament church.

If you ever have a pastoral need, please contact Fr. Christian at trinitychurchmpt@gmail.com or (608) 987-3019.
